Project Inspiration

Ideas don't always come from thin air, and it useful to create sources of inspiration for potential concepts. One way of doing this is using mood boards, which help inspire form, material choices and colour. Supplementary to this are the use of design personas, which help to contextualise potential users, including their needs and interests.

Mood Boards

The following examples of mood boards were used in design projects to guide concept direction. The examples include form inspiration for an executive luxury food blender, material and mechanism inspiration contemporary pedestal fan and inspiration for an articulating gaming seat aimed at the racing sim market.

Design Personas

The design personas below were created as a part of a group project designing an electric assisted coffee vendor van. The design personas helped to more deeply consider the needs of the user and what target market may be suitable.
